Belize Travel Tips

Currency Exchange: BZ $2.00 for US $1.00, two Belize dollars to one American dollar.


Climate: Belize has sub-tropical to tropical climate. Therefore, almost all year round we have high temperatures of about 90 degrees F, with humidity of about 80-85%.


Clothing: Cotton clothing is strongly recommended.


Airport Departure Tax: When leaving from the Belize International Airport a departure tax of $35.00 U.S per person is due.


Northern Boarder at Corozal: When leaving Belize to enter Mexico a departure tax of $18.75 US is due. (Children under the age of 12 yrs are exempt of this tax.)


Western Boarder at Benque: When leaving Belize to enter Guatemala a departure tax of $18.75 US is due. (Children under the age of 12 yrs are exempt of this tax.)


Visas: Travelers entering the country must have a valid passport (valid for up to six months after visit). No visas are required for citizens of the United States, United Kingdom and the majority of Caribbean Islands.  Belize allows visitors a maximum of one-month stay in the country before they require an extension.
